About Paula
Modern cynics and skeptics... see no harm in paying those to whom they entrust the minds of their children a smaller wage than is paid to those to whom they entrust the care of their plumbing.  ~John F. Kennedy
My name is Paula Izbicki and I have been teaching for 9 years.  I began teaching in the Concord School District where money is plentiful and professional development is on the cutting edge.  After 6 years there, my son Cronin was born.  Because I wanted to make sure I was close to home, and had time to make the most of his early childhood years, I decided to go for a job at the Manchester School District.  I spent two years in the classroom and am now a literacy coach for America’s Choice (a federally funded teaching model that is being implemented in 6 Manchester schools).  I am earning my degree in administration and am venturing into 26 Letters so that I can give to teachers.
If you promise not to believe everything your child says happens at school, I'll promise not to believe everything he says happens at home.  ~Anonymous Teacher
I believe that elementary classroom teachers are the hardest working people in education, with the smallest amount of input.  It blows my mind that the people who make the biggest decisions about education have little or no experience with teaching.  To try and help make teachers more powerful in what they know will work or what is needed in their classrooms I am hoping that our mini-grants will provide some sort of power for you!  I have total faith that teachers know how to spend money that will directly affect the education of their students.  So, that is why I wanted to do something with my coworkers that would be easy money. I hope you use our website and use it often, I hope you give back so that we can continue to support you, and I hope that you know how much you are appreciated.
The object of teaching a child is to enable him to get along without his teacher.  ~Elbert Hubbard
